What Up Hollywood, urged on by Bookstore Memories, had to really dig through the archives to find this great old photo of George with former Los Angeles Free Press Editor Brian Kirby. \u00a0This was taken at Tom Lesser’s annual Paperback Collector\u2019s Show in Mission Hills many moons ago.<\/h2>\n

George Clayton Johnson (July 10, 1929 \u2013 December 25, 2015) penned some of the most memorable science fiction scripts of the 1960s and \u201970s, including the first episode of \u201cStar Trek\u201d and seminal episodes of \u201cThe Twilight Zone,\u201d as well as co-writing the novel Logan\u2019s Run. Join us for an evening celebrating Johnson\u2019s life and career, including \u201cTwilight Zone\u201d episodes \u201cNothing in the Dark\u201d(1962), \u201cA Penny for Your Thoughts\u201d (1961), \u201cA Game of Pool\u201d (1961) and \u201cKick the Can\u201d (1962), as well as remembrances from colleagues. There will be a panel discussion and a performance by members of Ray Bradbury\u2019s Pandemonium Theatre Company.<\/p>\n
